Did George Anthony molest Casey? This question is now front and center in the defense strategy. We will first answer the question in the realm of court, and then later with regard to behavioral analysis.
To hear Casey tell it, through her attorney the defense strategy is this:
1. Caylee died in the swimming pool, where George found her, and screamed at Cssey for not watching her.
2. George then disposed of the body, and maintained a lie about Casey missing.
3. Casey went out to celebrate for the next 31 days because she was molested.
Are you with me so far? If so, you may need a moment to compose yourself.
4. Next, Meter Reader Roy Kronk, somehow, with or without George Anthony, found the body and hid it for months. Then, he planted it where it was found, in order to collect the $50,000 reward money and, according to CAsey via Jose, get fame.
5. The great witness to all of this is one Jill St. John, "psychic" dog handler.
Question: Are there any reliable witnesses to all of this?
Answer: Thus far, no.
Gayle St. John will bring a circus like atmosphere to the court and we can only imagine what the Prosecution will do with her "psychic" visions.
If Jose Baez goes through with this, "psychic" visions will be put under the spotlight of scientific data and will die a very quick death.
The question of whether or not George molested Casey wil come down to what is able to be shown, reasonably, in court, or not.
Thus far, we know of no school suspicions, guidance counselors, school nurses, doctors' examinations, or any concerned professionals who had come forward during these years, to question if Casey had been molested.
There is Tony, but he only said "physical abuse" from George.
There is always the Unknown Witness.
Will Jose call St. John to the stand to "witness" the sexual abuse via her "psychic" visions?
In spite of recent popularity, 'psychic' visions not only have no scientific basis, but Statement Analysis shows that the wording used by psychics shows deception; it does not come from experiential memory. Marc Klaas has called psychics "vultures" who descend upon vulnerable families of missing children." They come by the thousands and give all sorts of vague "visions" but the parents are too vulnerable and too desperate to resist. In spite of going Hollywood, investigators rely upon interviews and solid science to learn 'who done it'.
Once St. John is called, her 'record' of visions will be her undoing and end in utter embarrassment for the defense.
Does Jose Baez have something else up his sleeve?
We await the calling of the cards.
Thus far, the poker player is batting 1.000 with the bluff. He has not had a hand to play yet.
If the only "witness" to the molestation is Casey, the Prosecution, methodically going from one witness to the next to emphasize the lying aspect of Casey's personality, the defense will find that the emperor not only has no clothes, he smells badly, too.
