Questions and Answers in the Casey Anthony Trial: Molestation Defense

Q.  Does Jose Baez Believe His Client?

A.  It depends.

It depends on which topic is being addressed.

Let's take the molestation allegation first.

1.   Molestation

Casey said, through her attorney, that the molestation at the hands of her father began at age 8, and continued, at least until she was 13, where she was forced into sex acts just before going off to school.

The problem:  confirmation, if not verification.

Question:   Would anyone back this claim?

Answer:    No

Question:  Did Casey tell Baez that Tony would affirm molestation?

Answer:    Likely   (no one could be this stupid)

But Tony only said "physical abuse" at the hands of her father, George, not sexual abuse.

Question:  Is there anyone else who might testify that George sexually abused Casey?

Answer:    Maybe.  Maybe Lee will, and maybe Cindy will.  It was a solid "maybe" about George but he denied it soundly.

Question:   Did Jose Baez invent the swimming pool/molestation defense?

Answer:    We will deal with this defense strategy in our next analysis.
