The Anger of Deception

by Peter Hyatt

Cindy may fume at Lee, but when a family is deceptive, it is only a matter of time until the family implodes as deception is like paying with counterfeit money; eventually the worthlessness of the transaction comes to light.

The Anthonys all testified with indicators of deception. They were not able to coordinate their lies, even if they met at a bowling alley to discuss things.

At a bowling alley? Why "bowling alley"?

Jose Baez used this phrase about information being located in one of his witnesses. "It's not like he got this information from a bowling alley" he said.

Our language does not come from a void, but is chosen from somewhere.  When Casey made up Zanaida Gonzalez, it did not surprise us when we learned that she read this name on a registry at the Sawgrass apartments. Somewhere, at some time, Baez got information from a meeting associated with a bowling alley.

Lee lied.  Cindy lied.  George lied.

They lied at a capital murder trial.

Excuse the lies because Cindy is a mother?  Not a chance.  Lying under oath at a murder trial is not to be excused because one is an uncle, a mother, or a grandmother.  Remember Cindy Anthony was willing to falsely accuse Amy H. or Jesse Grund, allowing them to go to prison, or even death, just to save Casey.

Is that lie excusable because she is a "mother"?

Casey lied.  Should her lies be excused because she was a "mother""?

The Anthonys all lied, have lied from the beginning, and will continue to lie, but they will pay for their deception.

Deception eats away at credibility and it becomes difficult for us, and a jury, to discern between truth and fiction, therefore, they often dismiss deceptive people as they lose credibility.

Roy Kronk answered on the whole honestly.  His sensitivity regarding memory is likely due to attacks by Jose Baez.  The basics of his testimony:  finding the remains were truthful and without qualifiers.  Parts about his son showed the increases, but not to the point where we may conclude that he is not credible; only angry, particularly, with what has happened to him since the remains were found, and how he has been blamed.

Jose Baez called him "morally bankrupt" and it is likely that Jose Baez should expect a suit filed against him by Kronk's attorney.  Baez' attempt at deception failed and the jury will not believe what Baez has said.

Roy Kronk will sue Baez and Baez will be in trouble.  Why?  Because Baez was deceptive and lied.

Deceptive people fall over each other, lie after lie.  They turn on each other and sometimes pay the price.

Baez will pay, one way or another, or possibly several ways, including being disbarred after this trial.  He may also pay in a suit filed by Kronk.

The Anthonys may get their millions, but they will never have peace one with another.  We saw this when Lee felt compelled to say "this family is united" indicating how just disjointed they were.

As Cindy glares at Lee, she will also have to come to grips with George's affair, George's unwillingness to say that he molested Casey, or how he moved the body.  George will have to deal with Cindy's lies.  They will all have to deal with the fact that in almost 3 years, Casey has refused to see any of them.

They may get money, but they will never have each other's trust, nor will they know peace living off blood money from a child that they took no steps to save from the monster they created.
